I said I'd have a small preview of the Yoshi & Chao Adoption Clinic soon, and here it is!
First off, an explanation. It's been quite a while since we've had the clinic on the site, and in that time the idea has evolved
a lot. Instead of simply just adopting a pet and buying power ups for it, there's now a ton of new features. The basics of the system are listed below:
> There will be a separate forum category devoted to all things involved with the Clinic
> Sections in the category include "The Garden", "The Marketplace", and "The Battle Arena"
> The Garden is where everyone's "Pet Page" (the thread that contains your pet's information) is found
> The Marketplace is where you can buy items using tokens
> The Battle Arena is where karate matches are held
> Stickers, bought in The Marketplace section, level up your pet's stats
> Members can trade stickers on their pet pages
> Food, bought in The Marketplace, fills your pet's "Growth Meter"
> Filling up your growth meter once evolves your pet into adulthood
> Different stat levels influence how your pet looks as an adult (i.e., there's different looks for a pet specialising in "Flight", "Speed", etc.)
> Filling it up the growth meter again turns it back into a baby, complete with the default yoshi/chao look
> Karate Matches happen every week on a planned schedule
> Your pet's stats and a poll in the match's thread influence who wins the match
> Karate Matches award the winning pet with 20 tokens and increased stats
